AGM and Norm Holloway Shield, BBQ lunch.

We encourage all juniors to participate in the Norm Holloway Shield – there are two events -  the Jnr Section and the Slow Melody Section which jnrs can choose an appropriate piece of music to compete with. It is OK to have music with CD backing and we will be providing an accompanist this year if one is required.
The events are free to enter, the winner receives a trophy and it is a great opportunity to develop performance skills, no matter what level of music you play.

The AGM will be held straight after lunch. The Band would welcome any parents to get more involved. This year Cath Popple and Detlef Mohr have been invaluable. Please give some consideration to becoming a committee member and have an input into the band's organisation for the next 12 months. We will be in urgent need of a secretary and a publicity officer and general committee members.

Lord of the Brass. Concert at the Laycock Street Theatre.

Please come and give the band your support. This is the future of your band and it will be a lot stronger for your support, with family and friends.

Xmas

The Christmas period is fast approaching. The band often has small marching functions around the coast. It would be great to see our junior members joining these functions and having the experience of marching, playing and having fun entertaining the crowds.

So practice up during the holidays to show your conductor that you are ready!

Jnr Band T-shirt

This has been an on-going project and it is likely that the new committee will have to take this task over and push it along a bit. We have taken sizes and will hopefully have some shirts within the next few months.

Cleaning the Band Hall

As a community organisation everyone is rostered for cleaning the hall. This roster lives on the notice board and so is often ignored. So please see below. If your name is down see Mark or Kindi to access a cleaning key which can be collected and dropped back the following week. It does involve some communication with a rostered partner.
